I ‘ve been wanting the Digitakt and Digitone not just for their musical capabilities but I also wanted use them as a sounddesign tool. I just love the fact I can combine sample/granular/wavetable/‘analog’ waveforms with a very handson approach while making them without staring at pixels on a computer.
So here is my take on using the two machines as a sounddesign tool and create different machinelike sounddesign…
Most is made by resampling, shaping and using the different options from the instruments itself, but also doing realtime resampling while controlling different parameters and then morphing that sound into a new sound.
And here is my take on recreating an original 8bit sound on the Digitone. On the Digitakt I play the original, then on the Digitone the one I created based on the original sound; sounds pretty close, still improving it every once in a while…
